Thanks take 2

Thanks to everyone that came out today! It was awesome and I defiantly learned a lot for next time too. 

Hope everyone had a blast, and please keep checking the site for more updates on Savannah Bike events.

Pictures will be posted in the next few days.

Now I have to make it through final exams!


Artisan Festival

First a big thank you to everyone who came out last night, we ended up with about 200 people throughout the night at Desoto. Also a big thank you to the artists who showed up as well the work looked fantastic! 

Today is the big day so make sure you come by. We will be starting the day with just music, free space to ride, do tricks, and hang out until about 1PM. 

at 1PM demos will start with Lee Burbage. He will be doing a demo on self assessment, and DIY bike repairs. 

1:30PM is Brett Kuck, who will be showing how to paint you own bike. He has brought out both spray paint and his airbrush so for all you DIYers it will be some awesome information. 

New Addition: Matt Cooper will also be doing demos during the day on how to add fabric to your bike in many many ways. His work is amazing so check it out. 

2PM is the group ride sponsored by the Savannah Bicycle Campaign so make sure you bring your bike out and come take a ride with us and SBC! 

When the group ride returns we will start up the contests, so probably around 2:45-3PM depending on the length of the group ride. 

Contests include:

Best Commuter Bike

Best Misc. Build 

Track Stand 


We have some awesome prizes so make sure to participate. 

Sometime after 3PM pick up polo matches will be going on so bring your equipment if you play!

Art Opening

The Art opening is tonight! Come check out some fantastic art work with a a bike theme.

Opening is tonight from 6PM-9PM free food and drinks. So come stop by Desotorow!

The film portion of the festival kicks off tonight. We will be playing Veer at 9PM at the River Club of Savannah located at 3 MLK Blvd. Close to the corner of MLK and Bay Street.

Veer will be following the 7PM showing of Died Young Stayed Pretty that is sponsored by SCAD Communications and SCAD Radio.

The Veer Screening is sponsored by SCAD District and Desotorow Gallery.

We will be raffeling off T-shirts tonight from One-fixed and Urban Velo so make sure you come out. We will also have FREE Veer posters and some free CDs to give out as well.

Schedule of Events

Here is the tenative schedule of events for Saturday:

11am vendor set up

12 noon Offically open – free space for tricks, polo, or just riding around with sweet tunes of SCAD Radio.

1pm – Bike Painting demo with local Brett Kuck.

1:30pm – self help bike fixes with local Lee Burbage

2pm – group ride through town sponsored by the Savannah Bicycle Campaign.

Once the group ride is over contests will begin hopefully around 3:30.

Contests include: Track Stand, Best Commuter Bike, Best Misc. Bike Build, and Footdown.

Please notes contest are a $2 entree fee. Or you can enter 3 for $5. Prizes include: t-shirts from One Fixed, a $40 gift certificate to Star Bike, CD packs from Absolutely Kosher Records, a pair of wheels decked out by local artist Matt Cooper, and lots of free Urban Velo Magazines, and CDs for participants.

Come check it all out!

Don’t forget Spoked starts tomorrow night (Thursday) at the River Club on 3 MLK Dr. in downtown Savannah at 9PM with a screening of “Veer.”

Check out our poster!

It should be up around Savannah by begining of this week, so keep a look out.

Remember to get a booth for the Aristan Trade Show its a $25 donation, and you have to either stop by Desotorow Gallery (located at 2427 De Soto Ave. Savannah GA 31401) or email to save a spot.

If you make anything for bikes, with bikes, or about bikes please come and sell your merch! Deadline for sign ups are March 5th at 9PM.

Star Bike

If your looking to what prizes we are going to have at Spoked a few include an awesome gift certificate to Star Bike in Savannah, gear from One Fixed, also some sweet stuff from Urban Velo and the movie Veer. 

Thanks to everyone so far and look out for more updates. 

We are also taking art work for the Spoked Art Show through the weekend so if you missed the deadline you have another chance until Monday. 

So far the art work looks pretty awesome.
